going through my folder of articles, I came upon one about school, specifically, what American schools are doing wrong (besides lack of budget).
Of all places, Harvard University has abandoned the end-of-semester final test as it turns out waiting that long to see what students learned is a poor way to educate them.Instead, smaller tests given more often keeps knowledge in the student's heads longer.
It has been found that cramming for a test is only good for keeping the knowledge long enough to pass the test, whether you study a week or a night before.
Harvard has found this idea so useful that if a teacher wants to assign a final, they have to get permission from the head of the school first.
While our schools need help, it's not just money that's needed, but a good, long look at how we teach.
