Gothkeeping

Anyone remember when Goth kids were considered too weird or crazy to sit with other people?

We need that back. Goth can be beautiful. Look at Morticia Adams or Nico Robin.  But most goths shouldn’t socialize with other people, especially other goths.

That’s because people who want to dress goth and those who call themselves ‘real goths’ aren’t the same type of people.   And the latter can go sit out in the hall to eat while everyone else has a good time at the tables they like.

Those who dress as goths are friendly, like a variety of music, research dark and occult things and enjoy them.  Those who claim to the ‘real goths’ say ‘it’s based on music’ and don’t like anyone, especially the friendly goths.  They don’t’ even like that their culture evolved at all.  They refuse to accept that new styles and new attitudes have shown up, and they hate that wikis about goths include anything that isn’t a style of music.

The problem is, it’s not.  Goth hasn’t been mainly about the music for a long time.  Is The Crow about the Music or the outfits or the revenge?  Is Hippie mainly about the music?  Beatnik can be mainly about Jack Keruac?  Not anymore.  And you can’t blame the media.  What the media sees on the surface, as the superficial, that’s what it’s going to interpret as the culture.  SJWS are vocal, and their standards of casting and plot don’t show up as their aesthetics, but as vocal and obtuse.

Besides, if Goth was mainly about the music, wouldn’t people just dress in band tees? Why dress in black, leather, white and black makeup and awesome hair if that was part of it, as ‘pure goth’s claim it isn’t?

And by the way, anyone of any weight, income, and race can not only dress goth, but be beautiful doing it  The only people who should be telling you goth is mainly about the music are time travelers.
