It's not me, it's you

Every writer wants to get the most out of their writing. Whether its praise, discussion, publishing, fame, money, or free monkeys, everyone wants the most out of their work.

But what if—no matter how hard or what you try—you can't start?

Just like what you want out of your writing, the answer varies from person to person. Why do you want to write in the first place? Why THIS story? What about writing this story compels you to write it?

Focus only on those aspects at first. You can get to the boring details later when you're ready to be immersed in your own creation for better of for worse, not just for better.

Even then, don't bore yourself. If you keep yourself excited and inspired throughout the story, the higher the chances are other will be too.

It's not my heart or passion or dreams. Its all yours. What are they and do you want them that badly? If you do, go chase them to the end and never take those tempting detours into monotony.

The MRU could always use more readers and writers.
